Description

I promised myself that I would stop painting floating women with flowy fabric, but oh well....

I made this for an avatar/character portrait contest at Gaia. It was made pretty quickly, hence the lack of background. It was meant to be just a portrait anyway.

I like the actual rendering of the work the woman looks very well rendered. The backround could have been more interesting and I'm not sure about the mirror image you got of her in the backround. I think it would have worked better if you had made the hair longer. Overall though it's good work +5

the shines and the details on the feathers blinds me, it seems like it was in front of the monitor.

I think the skin could use a few more colors in it,but it still is a very good piece.The detail in the feather like things is well done.

The only thing that disturb me (a little) is the mirror image in bg.

Well done, specially from the waist up. I f you look only at the legs, though, they look like they are in the same plane, and they should not... It`s a question of adjusting the lightng so the right leg looks farther from us viewers. And the little character over the title is kind of bothersome, at least for me. Great piece anyway.

Pros:

I really like the color sheme. the feather texture is very well rendered. I like the background a lot. this would make a good wallpaper.

Cons:

The fabric is a bit too blurry at some places. the ear looks wierd. The legs are somewhat off, I mean, the one behind looks in front of the other..

Overall opinion/feedback:

I think you achieved something awesome. with some mistakes but overall, it's a great piece of art. Some said the background wasn't good but I think it's perfect. It really suits the character. great work! 9/9
